My Feelings

Who is happy? Who is sad? Let's learn about feelings!

What your child learns

  • Recognizing happy, sad, angry, scared and surprised faces, and later tired and shy
  • Guessing how someone feels in an everyday moment: dropping an ice cream, having a toy grabbed, hearing thunder
  • Choosing what helps: hugging a sad friend, taking deep breaths when angry, turning on a night light when scared of the dark
  • Learning that every feeling is okay; it is what we do next that we get to choose

How to play

  1. Press "Play now", listen to the question, for example "Who is happy?", and tap the right face.
  2. At higher levels, look at the picture, listen to the short story ("Nam dropped his ice cream") and pick the face that fits.
  3. At the top levels, pick the picture of what helps when a friend is sad, or when you feel angry, scared, tired or shy.
  4. A wrong pick gets a gentle note saying which feeling that face shows, then another try. On a computer, keys 1–3 work too.

For parents

  • After playing, ask "When did you feel happy today? When did you feel sad?" to help your child name their own feelings.
  • When your child is upset, name the feeling for them ("You are angry because your toy was taken") and take deep breaths together.
  • Remind them that sad, angry or scared are all okay; what matters is what we do next, like telling a grown-up instead of throwing things.
  • Make happy, sad and surprised faces together in the mirror, or guess how characters feel while reading a story.
  • Questions only use clear situations, and easily confused feelings (like scared and surprised) never appear side by side.
